STC Group Provides Rs 5 Million for Bhotekoshi Flood Relief

STC Group has contributed Rs 5 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the recent floods in the Bhotekoshi area.

The contribution was handed over to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on September 3. The company said the assistance is aimed at supporting immediate relief, rescue and rehabilitation initiatives for communities affected by the disaster.

The contribution also includes Rs 1 million provided by Indian company Bherok International, which is an authorized partner of STC Group. The two companies have jointly contributed a total of Rs 5 million to the relief fund.

The Bhotekoshi floods have caused significant damage to infrastructure, disrupted livelihoods and affected economic activity in the region. STC Group said the contribution reflects the need for the private sector to play a role alongside government agencies and communities during times of natural disasters.

Surendra Kumar Upreti, Managing Director of STC Nepal, said supporting affected communities during a crisis is a shared responsibility.

He said the floods had disrupted the lives of many families in the Bhotekoshi region and that the private sector should also contribute to government-led relief and recovery efforts.

STC Group is active in Nepal's automotive sector, with operations covering the distribution of automotive components, lubricants and tyres. The group has also been involved in battery manufacturing in Nepal.

The company said cooperation among the government, private sector and the wider public will be important for the recovery and rehabilitation of areas affected by the floods.
